Riyad Mahrez The 25-year-old Algeria international has been instrumental in Leicester's astonishing surge towards the Premier League title, scoring 17 goals, with 11 assists, in 33 league appearances. Mahrez beat team-mates Jamie Vardy and N'Golo Kante, Tottenham's Harry Kane, West Ham's Dimitri Payet and Arsenal's Mesut Ozil to the award. Mahrez said: "All the credit is for my team-mates, seriously, and for my manager and the staff.

Oliseh resigns as S’Eagles coach

Sports The coach of the Nigerian Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh, has resigned from his job. Oliseh announced his resignation in the early hours of Friday on  Twitter . Former Super Eagles captain said his resignation was due to non-payment of salaries and benefits to coaches and players of the team. His decision came after he was instructed by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to be reporting to the National Technical Director of the Federation, Shaibu Amodu. The Chairman, NFF’s Technical and Development Committee, Chris Green, said on Thursday that this development was for easy coordination.
