‘NIMASA paid my Firms N900m for Executing no Contract’
News Uche Obilor, a prosecution witness for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in the ongoing trial of a former Director-General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Patrick Akpobolokemi, and six others yesterday told a Federal High Court, Lagos how his three companies were paid N905, 800,000 by NIMASA for a contract he did not execute. Obilor, who is the Managing Director of the companies, Ace Prosthesis Limited, Seabulk Offshore Limited and Southern Offshore Limited, told the court that the money was paid into the companies’ two bank accounts even though he did not tender any proposal or carry out any contract for NIMASA. Akpobolokemi was arraigned before Justice Ibrahim Buba along with three others – Captain Ezekiel Agaba, Ekene Nwakuche, Governor Juan – and three companies, namely Blockz and Stonz Limited, Kenzo Logistics Limited and Al-Kenzo Logistic Limited.
