They named their currency “UR” after the ancient Sumerian city-state of the same name. As one of the first cities on Earth, the creation of the city of Ur led to dramatic wealth creation for its inhabitants and contributed to major developments in the arts and technology.
The name was also chosen because it reveals what is the true source of the value of all money: you are (UR).
