Ile-Epo Road Project to be completed in 2 weeks - LSPWC
The Lagos State Public Works (LDPWC) has declared that the on-going road project on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway at Ile-Epo Oja, in Oke-odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of the State will be completed within the next two weeks.
Special Adviser/Chief Executive Officer (LSPWC), Engr. Ayotunde Sodeinde, disclosed this during an inspection tour of the project which commenced in October last year.
He stated that the project originally lacked inadequate drains which made the Corporation commenced a reconstruction of 850 metres drainage system to contain rain water and discharge from the adjourning market and residential buildings.
Sodeinde noted that the Corporation has commenced the asphalting of the 1000 metres of the bad portion of the road, assuring Lagosians plying the road that in another two weeks, they will heave a sigh of relief.
While apologising for the inconvenience the road rehabilitation might have caused, the LSPWC boss solicited for the support and cooperation of the people for the remaining period the project would last.
Similarly, the Special Adviser applauded Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for his recent approval of the rehabilitation of 13 new road projects in Surulere Local Government Area, adding that asphalt work had been completed on Kernel Street while grading of Animashaun Street is on-going.
According to him, other roads due for rehabilitation in the Local Government Area include Itolo, Johnson, Imam-Dauda, Suenu, Olumegbon, Onitolo, Olorogun, Iluseyi, Aiyegbami and Jeminatu Buraimoh close.
The Special Adviser also inspected the on-going drainage construction and road rehabilitation projects at Queens Drive, Ikoyi, noting that the project, which is in its final phase, will also be completed soon.
It will be recalled that in the last eight months, LSPWC has completed road projects at ACME/Metal box road, Ogba, Alfa-Nla in Agege, Ikotun-Ejigbo road projects, Epe-Ijebu-Ode road, Oba Sekunmade in Ikorodu, CIPM road in Ikeja and Jan. 27 road in Oke-Afa Oshodi/Isolo to among others.
