How to Have a Great Day (Thursday 31st March 2016)

Daily Devotional RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **Speak Blessings To Everything Around You** Thursday 31st March: Pastor Chris PhD And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). God wants us to take His Word to the nations, and that means a lot. But you see, when He said to preach the Gospel to every creature, He wasn’t only referring to preaching to someone who doesn’t know Jesus. Preaching the Gospel to every creature means preaching to EVERYTHING that exists! Romans 8:19 says, “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” The term “creature” actually means “creation.” So, it’s saying, “The earnest expectation of the creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.” There’s depreciation in the human world, including human life; and so, everything in life is waiting for your manifestation; waiting for you to liberate them. All around the world, there’s fear. Many scien

Daily Devotional RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **You Have A Role To Play** Tuesday 29th March: Pastor Chris PhD This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8). In life, people may find themselves in certain circumstances they weren't responsible for. Yes, others can create situations or circumstances—pleasant or unpleasant—for you, but ultimately, you have a role to play in determining the final outcome of your life. The circumstances of your birth may not have been so palatable. You may have been born into a poor home; and you had nothing to do with that. That was another person's responsibility. But don't maintain the status quo, because someone else was responsible; change things! You may have been born poor, but you weren't born to be poor.

STATE HOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT BUHARI FELICITATES WITH ASIWAJU BOLA TINUBU AT 64

Image
Bola Ahmed Tinubu President Muhammadu Buhari warmly felicitates with the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he clocks 64 years on March 29, 2016. The President believes the rising political profile of Asiwaju Tinubu since he was elected a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 1992 is a testimony to his forthrightness, diligence and doggedness, the same qualities that had endeared him to the electorate and given him all-round success as a private sector worker, a businessman and two-term Governor of Lagos State. As one of the pillars of the APC, President Buhari commends the visionary leadership style of the Asiwaju of Lagos, who is also the Jagaban of the Borgu Kingdom in Niger State, for creating a formidable opposition party in Nigeria that worked vigorously within a short period to oust a party that had been in power for 16 years.

Turn your Business into a Technology Company (Part 4) By Dr Strive Masiyiwa

Image
Image Credit: KMW – Ubuntu Hope __Listen before you leap. In a recent interview, a former CEO of Apple Computer, John Sculley, talked about entrepreneurship, innovation and new “disruptive” technologies.  He said his Apple business card back then didn’t call him Chief Executive Officer. It said: “Chief Listener” … As you transform your business into a technology company, you’ll have important decisions to make. You, too, will need to become a “chief listener.” Not every exciting new technology will be right for every business. Not long ago I met a young farmer from Zambia who told me of innovations he was introducing on his smallholding of only a few acres: He knew he had to introduce hybrid seeds to increase his yield…  seed technology. He was using fertilizers and testing out different application methods… soil management technology.

Pause: Flower power in Kenya and Ethiopia: a sign of things to come. (By Dr Strive Masiyiwa)

Image
Image Caption: Fair trade rose flower farm in Kenya which produces cutting flowers for export to Europe On Valentine’s Day last month, I came across an article in a top British newspaper: "My love is like a red rose shipped all the way from Africa."  It told how fresh cut roses grown in Kenya and Ethiopia are now exported in huge numbers to Europe, a market dominated for over 300 years by flower growers in the Netherlands (also known as Holland). "Where once most cut flowers, including red roses, came from Holland. . .today they more likely come from Africa. New figures reveal a huge drop in Dutch production, in favour of imports from Kenya -- where roses are called "waridi" in Swahili -- and Ethiopia. Half a million people depend on the floriculture industry in Kenya alone,” according to the Daily Telegraph (14/02/16).

Daily Devotional RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **VICTORY AND DOMINION IN CHRIST JESUS** Friday 25th March: Pastor Chris PhD My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children (Hosea 4:6). God said through the Prophet Hosea that His people are destroyed, defeated and broken because they lack knowledge. Meaning that, their bane isn’t that they lack faith or aren’t making the right effort; the reason they‘re not walking in victory and dominion is their ignorance. This, therefore, means that as God’s children, we must keep making conscious efforts to learn and be taught God’s Word. If you have more accurate knowledge of the Word, you’ll live in victory and dominion every day of your life, irrespective of any adversity.

Daily Devotional RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **WORDS ARE SPIRITUAL ELEMENTS** Monday 21st March: Pastor Chris PhD Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire... (James 3:5-6). There’s something inside your mouth that’s so powerful; it’s your tongue. It’s given to you by God to form words; words with which to control, create or recreate the circumstances of your life. James 3:6 says the tongue is a fire; the power for any change that you desire is in your tongue. Jesus said you shall have what you say (Mark 11:23). If you speak confusing words, the result is that your life will be confusing, because you’re giving confusing signals. Words are spiritual elements. They don’t die. That’s why Jesus said, “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment” (Matthew 12:36). One day, all your words will be shown to you by Go

This Really Inspired Me

Dr. Ahmed a well known cancer specialist was once on his way to an important conference in another city where he was going to be granted an award in the field of medical research. He was excited about the award and so boarded a plane to the venue. However two hours after the plane took off, it made an emergency landing at the nearest airport due to some technical snag. Afraid that he would not make it in time to the conference, he immediately went to the reception and found out that the next flight to his destination was after ten hours! He rented a car and drove himself to the conference city which was four hours away. Soon after he left, the weather changed and a heavy storm began. The down pour made it difficult for him to see so he missed a turn he was supposed to take. Driving in the heavy rain on a deserted road, feeling hungry and tired, he frantically began to look for any sign of civilization. He came across a small tattered house and knocked on the door. A beautiful l

Must read: He was Mad when His Rich boss ignored him, But was shocked to Learn this

Submitted by Jimmy M. of Spring, Texas “My boss drove a luxury car everyday and it was my duty to greet him and to open the gates for him, as I worked as a watchman in his villa. But he never responded back to my greetings. One day he saw me opening the garbage bags outside the villa in search for any leftover food. But, as usual he never even looked at me, it was like as if he never saw anything! The very next day I saw a paper bag at the same place, but it was clean and the food inside was covered well. It was fresh and good food like someone had just brought it from the supermarket. I didn’t bother as to where it came from, I just took the paper bag and I was so happy about it. Every day I found this paper bag at the same place with fresh vegetables and all that we needed for home. This became my daily routine. I was eating and sharing this food with my wife and kids. I was wondering who this fool could be?! To forget his paper bag full of fresh food everyday.

Daily Devotional RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **He Leads Us In Love** Friday 18th March: Pastor Chris PhD By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another (John 13:35). Walking in love is a primary way to tell that a Christian is being led by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit only leads us in love. He’ll never lead you in such a way as to hate anyone, be proud, arrogant or express unrestrained anger. In walking with the Lord, one of the things He seeks to accomplish in your life is to have His love fully expressed through you, such that you’re patient, meek, kind and not easily provoked. James 1:19 (GNB) says, “...Everyone must be quick to listen, but slow to speak and slow to become angry.”

Food for Thought

There is this story of two people who went to India, one with a vision and the other without a vision. They both sat down somewhere and watched the massive crowd moving everyone of them on bare foot. One said, "oh, there's so much poverty in this place! This people are suffering". But the other said to himself, "I think this people(so great a population!) Can make me a millionaire, all I need to do is to bring. Shoes and sell to them." So he went back home, went to a shoe manufacturing company and asked them to produce plastic shoe for him, 25cents a pair. That's the story of TOMMY HILFIGER. Vision made him! Two men, in the same environment. Under the same circumstance, but while one was seeing problems, the other was seeing an opportunity to make money. It's not the

Daily Devotional RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **Power In The Word** Wednesday 16th March: Pastor Chris PhD He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions (Psalm 107:20). The power of God is in His Word. You receive power when you hear the Word. Our opening scripture says, “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Healing is a power. When the healing power of God comes to reside in you, it doesn’t matter what sickness has been in your body, that power would produce results and prevail. Matthew 8:16 says, “When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick.” You see, the Lord Jesus cast out devils with His word! There’s power in the Word.

Daily Devotional RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **Renew Your Thinking** Tuesday 15th March: Pastor Chris PhD And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2). After you’ve given your life to Christ, you’ve got a responsibility. The Bible tells us not to be like the rest of the world. Don’t conform to the world’s standards and ways of doing things. Be different. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. That means, change your way of thinking; have a new mindset. If you want to see increased manifestation of the glory of God in your life, you must keep renewing your mind with the Word. Before you became a Christian, you heard, and spoke words from the world; words that you learnt from your friends, from school, your environment, the members of your family, etc. Sometimes they were bitter words, angry words, and harsh words. Some other times, they were

African Goals end Arsenal FA Cup Reign

Image
Football Nigerian Odion Ighalo and Algerian Adlene Guedioura scored the weekend goals for Watford that ended the two-year reign of Arsenal as FA Cup title-holders. Striker Ighalo struck with a close-range shot and winger Guedioura with an unstoppable one as Watford pulled off a shock 2-1 quarter-final triumph at the Emirates Stadium. Democratic Republic of Congo striker Cedric Bakambu bagged a brace for La Liga outfit Villarreal — taking his debut season tally to 16 — but could not prevent a 4-2 loss to Sevilla. ENGLAND ADLENE GUEDIOURA (Watford) Guedioura scored a jaw-dropping goal as Watford stunned Arsenal 2-1 and reached the semi-finals for the first time since 2007. With Watford 1-0 up in the 63rd minute, Troy Deeney rolled a pass into Guedioura’s path and from the right-hand corner of the box he unleashed an unstoppable first-time shot that zipped into the top-right corner.

Pause: What is the most important skill you need? By Dr Strive Masiyiwa

Image
Education If you want to be successful, you’ll need many specialised business skills, but probably the most important one will surprise you:  it's the capacity to READ!  Yes, READ! You must develop the capacity to read, and to read FAST, and by this I don't mean basic literacy. This is why I talk of "capacity." If you’re on this platform, you’re someone who has more than basic literacy skills.  You are the next generation of leaders. I'm sure you’ve heard the expression: "(Great) leaders are readers." You must have the capacity to read a lot, if you want to be successful.  All the greatest leaders I’ve ever met, from any walk of life, had this in common: they liked to read books, journals, and articles.

Turn your Business into a “Technology Company” (Part 3) By Dr Strive Masiyiwa

Image
Harness the future!   The other day I was watching a program about a young Chinese entrepreneur who created a restaurant that has no waiters. Everyone orders food using an "App" and simply arrives, collects and sits down to eat! Ten years ago, I remember visiting a farmer’s market in rural Kenya where they exchanged prices on their cell phones, from village to village, to ensure that middlemen don't cheat them. It has since developed into a highly sophisticated commodity exchange system.  This is technology. In the past few weeks, some of you have shared exciting ways you already use technology in your own businesses. Others of you are just beginning to launch your ideas. You are harnessing the future! __Whatever line of work you’re in, you must master technology. It must be your silent partner!

Broadcast television’s number one program hit a high of almost 18 million viewers in its season one finale but episodes in the new season have dropped as low as nine million amid criticism over storylines. “What happened was growing pains,” Daniels told the PaleyFest TV festival in Los Angeles, agreeing with host Kevin Frazier that the show had gone “a little left.” “I think it would have happened to any show and I think that, though we still remained number one, we were learning, you know?”

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE A TYRE BLOWOUT

In the event of the unfortunate death of Nigeria's minister of state for labour due to an accident occasioned by a tyre blowout and the fact that in Nigeria now-a-days, we have many untrained drivers, it has become pertinent for me to write this. There are 6 simple steps to take within a maximum of 2 minutes and you will be safe, these by the grace of God I have been familiar with for decades. They are as follow: (1) DON'T PANIC in the event of a blowout, calm yourself down fast because your car will start misbehaving and you need to take charge.   (2) Hold FIRMLY to your steering wheel with both hand, NO VIGOROUS TURNING, as you concentrate on the road and your mirrors, in seconds study the movement pattern of the car. Your car will naturally swerve to the direction of the burst tyre. (3) Gradually take off your foot from the accelerator, DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO PRESS THE BRAKES, IF YOU DO, YOU HAVE A 95% CHANCE OF A SOMERSAULT. The car will decelerate gradually whil

Arsenal’s French striker Olivier Giroud (C) celebrates with Arsenal’s English defender Calum Chambers (L) and Arsenal’s Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny after scoring the opening goal of the English FA cup fifth round replay football match between Hull City and Arsenal at the KC Stadium in Kingston upon Hull in north east England on March 8, 2016. PHOTO: Paul ELLIS / AFP Two goals each from Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott saw holders Arsenal stretch their three-year unbeaten run in the FA Cup thanks to a comfortable 4-0 win at Hull City on Tuesday. Arsene Wenger’s side will host Premier League rivals Watford in the last eight on Sunday to contest a place in the semi-finals at Wembley in April after victory in a 15th consecutive tie for the Gunners as they close in on a third straight success in the competition. Giroud opened the scoring before the break and added another in the 71st minute before Walcott netted twice in the final 13 minutes, but Arsenal progressed at a cost,

Daily Devotional RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **Take Advantage of The Anointing** Tuesday 8th March: Pastor Chris PhD But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you...(1 John 2:27). Being born again, the anointing of the Holy Spirit is on your life. That anointing makes your life supernatural! You're different from the rest of the world. Your words have power, because you're an associate of the God-kind. When Moses stood before the Red Sea and God said to him, "Moses, stretch your hand over the water and divide it," he obeyed God and stretched his hand over the water. At that moment, he ceased to be the mere man, Moses; he was in union with divinity. Why? Because when he stretched forth his hand, the hand of God was stretched forth also. When he spoke words, they weren't the words of Moses but the words of God, for his words became anointed by the Holy Spirit.
