The Lagos State Government has banned street parking on both sides of the road from Opebi to Allen round about in Ikeja with effect from Monday, 8th February, 2016.

A release by the State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, directed business premises and visitors to the area to endeavour to park their vehicles within their premises or on side streets along the stretch.

It warned that any violation of the order will be appropriately charged and sanctioned by the appropriate Law enforcement agency saddled with the responsibility of ensuring compliance with this directive.

The release stated further that in line with the provisions of the Lagos State Traffic Law 2012 all vehicles, including tricycles and Okada, must also abide by the restriction order.

It however implored business premises in the area to ensure compliance so as to avoid the closure of their premises or sanction against their customers.

The release expressed regrets for any inconvenience the action might cause residents, business owners and motorists in the area and its environ.
